These Are Not...' exhibited on the Mezzanine level and foyer space of The Cornerstone Gallery, is a collection of work completed during an Artists Residency at Liverpool Hope University’s Fine & Applied Arts department. The Residency was awarded to Bembol De La Cruz by the Philippines Ateneo Art Award and he has been accompanied by Ranelle Dial “Rain”, a visual artist from the Philippines, at Liverpool Hope’s invitation. Ranelle has exhibited widely from Asia to Italy and New Jersey, USA.

The Ateneo Art Award consistently re-defines the prime movers in the Philippines art scene. The 2011 Award themed: Anatomy of Autonomy, shortlisted 12 outstanding works by artists below the age of 36 who had exhibited between May 2010 and May 2011. Bembol De La Cruz was one of 3 winners and Liverpool Hope University is proud to be able to host and exhibit the artists new work. Other residencies within the Award are also taking place at the Common Room Networks Foundation in Bandung, Indonesia, La Trobe University Visual Arts Centre in Bendigo, Australia, Artesan Gallery in Singapore and Art Omi in New York, USA.
